Ron Kingswood: Becoming Pastoral

On October 1, EXCAVO celebrates the opening of Becoming Pastoral, featuring the much anticipated exhibition of abstract works by acclaimed Canadian artist, Ron Kingswood, curated by Moira McKee.

Produced during a self-imposed exile from his lauded representational work, Kingswood departed from literal references in search for something intangible over an eight year period of unlearning conventions. Merging visceral and abstract sensibilities, the paintings on view seek to illuminate the mysteries of our environment.

Throughout his forty year career, Kingswood has devoted his practice to investigating our interconnectedness to the external world. For his inaugural exhibition at EXCAVO, Kingswood‘s works reawaken the allegorical potential of nature; linking the flux of its phenomena to the spiritual realm.
